We Love a Sudden Rebrand

Yes, we're pivoting already

Hello friends!

As I mentioned in my last newsletter, I have been toying with the idea of a slight rebrand. I know many of you have become attached to my current format in the whooping two newsletters I sent out, but I started this newsletter with the idea of it evolving as I see fit. When thinking of further things I wanted to write about, I realized I kept landing on the same general category: media that excites me.

A good piece of writing, music, or TV usually does one of three things for me: It entertains me, it informs me, or it reflects my experience. When I look at my favorites shelf on Goodreads, this is obvious. Some of the most recent books on there are The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (taught me so much about great writing), The Idea of You by Robinne Lee (so entertaining), and The Arsonists’ City by Hala Alyan (which is about a family just like mine).

As a writer myself, I know how much work goes into all the media I consume, whether it’s something that resonates with me, educates me, or distracts me. Even when I read (or watch or listen to) something I don’t like, I find myself filled with gratitude and appreciation for the person who took the time to make it. But rarely do I get to express that appreciation which brings me to this newsletter.

In a world where there’s so much negativity online, I want to use my little corner of the Internet to share what I love and thank the people who bring these works into being. So going forward, this newsletter will be a bimonthly writeup of the books, albums, and TV shows I love (that hopefully you’ll love too). I’m hoping to change the name at some point to reflect this as well—just waiting for the right one to come to me! In the meantime, I’m excited to share my excitement about what I’m reading, watching, and listening to and already have several ideas in mind…stay tuned for the next newsletter, coming Aug. 30!
